Five books I read and loved as a kid....
I remember loving Golden Books when I was really little, but for the life of me, I can't remember a single title or even plot. I'm pretty sure Bambi was in one, but that's all I've got.
I do remember being excited to find grown-up books for the first time. My grandparents had a bunch of classic books in paperback in the spare room in their house. I think they were bought for my mom, but she was never much of a reader. I still have a whole bunch of these 1960s paperbacks--the series was called Campus Classics. This stockpile is how I first learned to love nineteenth century British Literature.
My favorite ones:
5. Green Mansions
4. Sense and Sensibility
3. Jane Eyre
2. Pride and Prejudice
1. Wuthering Heights
I still have this one, and use it to teach the book in AP Lit |
Great picks! Isn't this fun? I'm doing Cheyenne's Haunted Week also.
